Women in Construction (WIC) Week is a national event held March 7-13, 2021

SACRAMENTO, CA – The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Sacramento chapter will celebrate Women in Construction (WIC) Week March 7-13, 2021. WIC Week is celebrated at the national level throughout the entire industry.

Women working in construction numbered 1.5 percent of the entire U.S. workforce and now make up 9.9 percent of the construction industry in the United States.*

“NAWIC is all about breaking barriers and removing roadblocks,” says Agata Krasniewska, NAWIC Sacramento President and CFMA Sacramento Member. “By highlighting women in the construction industry during WIC Week, we aim to raise awareness of the opportunities available for, and the growing role of, women in the construction industry.”

NAWIC Sacramento will have several activities during WIC Week, including a virtual Careers in Construction panel and presentations. Each day of WIC Week we will have women sharing their role in the construction process. Those roles range from pre-construction services through project completion. These video presentations will be made available for distribution throughout the Sacramento Region and beyond.

Additional WIC Week 2021 Activities Include:

  • Happy Hour Member Mixer
  • Proclamations
  • Social Media Posts and Members Highlights
  • Participation in Construction Lobby Day

“NAWIC Sacramento brings together talented women from across Sacramento to strengthen and amplify the success of women in our industry while supporting our communities,” says Karen Conrod, Vice President Business Operations at The Boldt Company and VP of NAWIC Sacramento. “We are committed to championing women to impact the direction of the construction industry.”
